Frequently Asked Questions

What is Telethermography and how IHRA is different from regular Telethermography screening?

Thermography is a technique where IR radiation emitted from the body surface is captured. When there is an underlying issue, this heat distribution changes. Using sensitive thermal cameras, these heat patterns will be converted into images. General telethermography screening applications either use a technician or a pattern identification software for template matching, which leads to errors if the images captured are of low quality. Our proprietary technology uses computer vision and signals processing to extract relevant bio-signals. Our software uses machine learning models to calculate risk for chronic diseases based on the information from these bio-signals. Our software uses techniques similar to traditional ECG and EEGs so it has low false negative and false positive rates, increasing the positive predictive value.

Why should I use Aarca Research Solutions?

Aarca Research Solutions use a painless and novel technology that provides you a simple, affordable way to know if you are showing early indications of developing chronic diseases. It is powered by the technology that analyses hundreds of thousands of pixels of temperature values collected during your screening process which also includes over 50 parameters that give insights into your health conditions and wellness. Our report offers suggestions for the next steps, such as talking with a healthcare provider in getting an earlier health screening in a traditional setting or connecting with a specialist for disease diagnosis.

How do I take the screening?

Aarca Research's preventive healthcare screening solutions begin with a simple thermal imaging test you can take in our partner centers. Once you reach screening center at your appointment time, you will be asked to sit for 10 min to bring your vitals to the resting state. A one minute thermal video will be taken from you along with your medical history and your comorbidity report will be generated in less than 10 min. You'll receive an email notification directly when your results are ready.

What will my IHRA screening results tell me?

IHRA identifies if you are showing early indications of Type 2 Diabetes risk, Hypertension, and Hyperlipidaemia. Our solution IHRA transforms IR radiation information about your health into easy-to-understand health reports. Detailed comorbidity report clearly explains what your results mean, and guide you to simple next steps, like talking to a healthcare provider about early health screenings or diet or lifestyle changes.

What are the next steps after IHRA screening?

Comorbidity risk evaluation report from IHRA can help you are developing Type 2 diabetes, Hypertension, and Dyslipidemia — and guide you to actionable next steps that may make a difference towards a healthier future for you and your family. Using this easy-to-understand health report with key takeaways, you can act on after consulting with your healthcare provider. To determine how your results may factor in your long term health plan, it’s also very important that you talk to a healthcare provider. You can download our report that outlining your test results and a physician-friendly quick reference guide to take with you, if you choose, to a healthcare provider.

When should I start going for preventive healthcare screening?

Statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) show with each decade, the risk of developing a chronic disease doubles for an individual. This is going to worsen in the future due to stress, changes in lifestyle, and increased pollution. It is recommended that anyone above 25 years old to undergo preventive healthcare screening using Aarca Research solutions to take better care of their health.

How frequently do I need to take preventive healthcare screening?

A stitch in time saves nine.Since our solution is painless and can catch the risk of developing chronic diseases like Type 2 diabetes and hypertension earlier than any other modality, it is recommended to have at least two preventive healthcare screenings per year. FDA approves telethermography systems as an adjust modality and it is to be noted that our solution is a prognosis solution and is not a replacement for traditional diagnostic solutions like venepuncture.

What are the precautions one should take for telethermographic screening?

Alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea, colas or other beverages containing caffeine should be avoided at least six hours before the test. Hot or cold beverages should be avoided for at least one full hour before the examination. Aspirins, pain medications, vasodilators, constrictors should be avoided for 12 hours before the test. Smoking should be avoided for at least two full hours before the examination. Patients should rest for a minimum of 15 min at room temperature before taking the test. If sweating is observed, the screening will be only conducted after the sweat is controlled.

Is there a regulatory approval for Thermography-based screenings?

Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Volume 8, CITE: 21CFR884.2980 (revised as on April1, 2019) suggests telethermography systems as intended for adjunctive diagnostic screening and classified as Category I (general control) device by US FDA. However it is not approved for diagnostic purposes independently.

What is the uniqueness and novelty about your technology?

Our technology is first-of-its-kind in the world and we have five patents for the same as on date. Our multidisciplinary team constitutes of doctors, biomedical engineers and computer scientists to provide you this novel technology that uses thermography, computer vision, signal processing and machine learning models. Our technology is peer-reviewed and published in international journals.

I am a Medical Professional and can you tell me more about your technology?

Increasing interest in the field of metabolic disorders and an increase in related diseases has resulted in a demand for prognostic procedures which can be used for screening purposes to decide which patient cases should be further investigated. Thermography, which combines a high degree of accuracy with complete safety, meets the need. Thermography involves the detection of heat energy by an infrared-sensitive device, with subsequent conversion to electrical energy, amplification, and a suitable means of display. As the heat emitted from the skin which has an emissivity of 0.98 is related to blood flow. Measurement of the heat emission gives a measure of blood flow. Our non-invasive, non-contact method of infrared thermal imaging is a new diagnostic modality for diagnosing Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, and Dyslipidaemia. This imaging technique works on the principle of identification of temperature variations and patterns in the region of interest. The AI-based software uses imaging techniques to calculate the observed variance percentage, which works as a biomarker to identify the above-mentioned medical conditions. These biomarkers, based on severity, are indicative of arteriosclerosis/ atherosclerosis or changes in hemodynamics. The observed variance percentage is an indicative metric to identify the severity of the disease/medical condition.
